Rainy start to April breaks precipitation record for entire month

(WLUK) — We’re just 14 days into April, but this rainy month is already one for the record books in Northeast Wisconsin.

As of Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service has recorded 6.71 inches of precipitation so far this month at its Ashwaubenon office. That sets a new April precipitation record, breaking a 97-year-old record of 6.47 inches.

This historic rainfall follows Blizzard Elsa, which brought 26.6 inches of snow on March 14-16. Elsa was the second-largest snowstorm ever in Green Bay and the biggest in 138 years…
