A Green Bay man was sentenced April 17 to three years in prison for causing a car crash on Velp Avenue just over a year ago after street racing with another vehicle, actions the defendant himself described as “wrong, selfish, dangerous and immature.”
Jason Wright Jr., 23, pleaded no contest Jan. 23 to two counts of second-degree reckless injury and one count of injury by the intoxicated use of a vehicle. The intoxicated use of a vehicle charge stemmed from THC being detected in Wright’s blood at the time of the crash.
Around 7 p.m. April 1, Wright was driving a red Dodge Challenger eastbound on Velp Avenue when he began racing with a black truck, later identified to be driven by Timothy Mossberger, 36, of Green Bay, according to a criminal complaint.
