APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Appleton are reminding the public that impaired is impaired, and no one should be driving after drinking or while under the influence of drugs.
According to a release from the Appleton Police Department, it is prohibited to drive under the influence of marijuana, other illegal drugs, prescription medicines, should they affect someone’s ability to drive, or after taking a combination of controlled substances.

Officials report that state law in Wisconsin also prohibits driving with detectable amounts of certain controlled substances in one’s system.
Police say that using illegal drugs already puts at least that person at risk, if they then choose to drive, it puts everyone else at risk as impaired driving leads to a slowed reaction time, poor judgment, and reduced focus, which can lead to a single decision being turned into a criminal charge or a preventable tragedy…
