Man, woman arrested after neglect uncovered at Kernersville group home

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — A man, accused of five felony neglect charges against disabled adults, and a woman, who was charged with felony aiding and abetting, were arrested at Forsyth Group Home #1 on Linville Springs Road on Monday, Kernersville police confirmed.

Kernersville police officers arrested Emmanuel White and Sydney Fuller at the group home, and a neighbor described seeing multiple police cars, fire trucks and an ambulance in the area. White faces five felony counts of neglect of a disabled adult causing injury. Warrants allege he failed to provide hygiene and medical care to those disabled adults.

Forsyth Group Home #1 is a licensed facility serving adults whose primary diagnosis is a developmental disability but may also have other diagnoses. According to state standards, caretakers provide full-time supervision and assistance for residents who need the support but do not require nursing-level care.
