Greensboro, North Carolina-based Volvo Trucks North America says it has increased its use of recycled materials in the heavy-duty truck models it assembles in the United States, including using recycled-content plastics.
The business unit of Sweden-based Volvo Group says the increased the use of recycled and renewable materials reflects its effort to reduce the environmental impact from truck manufacturing.
“Our vision for the future of transportation extends beyond reducing tailpipe emissions,” says Peter Voorhoeve, president of Volvo Trucks North America. “Every component of a truck presents an opportunity to reduce environmental impact.
