Bielanski’s sound brings comparisons to early rock performers like Buddy Holly. “I like to just call it rock and roll, with the album name being Brian’s Super Happy Fun Time. It definitely tends to lean towards the upbeat, so it’s high energy. I get a lot of calls that I’m unique, that it’s kind of unique rock and roll, but with a bit of a retro vibe. I get a lot of comparisons to people like Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran, and things like that too.”
One of his most popular songs, “Thank God for Tacos,” was inspired by an unusual deal at a restaurant in Mexico. “That was a very, very interesting song. It was written in Mexico. The owner of the Mexican restaurant I was performing at offered me all I could eat tacos if I were to write a song about tacos on the spot, and that’s how that song came about.”
Bielanski’s musical tastes cover a range of genres. “I have been listening to a lot of Weezer, actually. So I’m really happy that they’re still making music all these years later. I definitely hope that my longevity can last as long as theirs. So, a lot of Weezer. I actually am listening to some Australian dance music too and then I’m always listening to some classical here and there too. I love Beethoven and Bach, so kind of all over the place with my musical tastes.”…
