SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – The Hub City Spartanburgers were shutout by the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 4-0, at Fifth Third Park in the final game of the series on Sunday afternoon.
After Hub City (6-15, 40-47) won a one-run game Saturday, the ‘Burgers faced a Bowling Green (13-8, 60-26) pitcher whose performance was near perfect.
The Spartanburgers were held without a baserunner through the first five innings by Bowling Green starter Jacob Kisting (W, 5-0). Hub City starter DJ McCarty (L, 2-5) matched with a scoreless first.
