SUMMERFIELD, N.C. (WGHP) — A Summerfield homeowner says his family can’t stay in their home on Wednesday night after a lithium-ion battery caught on fire in their house and caused major damage.
As these batteries are becoming more common in everyday devices, fire officials say a few safety precautions can help prevent another disaster.
‘Going to be a Total Loss’
The homeowner, Devin Long, says he had been charging the lithium-ion batteries for their electric scooters for a few hours when one caught on fire.
