GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A Thomasville man is facing a felony charge following a deadly hit-and-run crash on Interstate 85 in Guilford County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Investigators say that on Tuesday afternoon, William Garrett Okeith Moser, 23, of Thomasville, was driving a silver Kia Stinger GT at Mile Marker 116 on I-85 North when he made an unsafe lane change and hit a Dodge Ram truck, causing the Dodge to drive off the road and into a ditch, overturning in the process.
The driver of the Dodge truck, Alexis Ines Villegas, 29, of Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries she sustained in the crash, according to troopers. A passenger in the truck was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators say a witness to the crash shared their dashcam footage of the wreck with the highway patrol. That footage allowed troopers to identify the license plate of Moser’s Kia and he would later be taken into custody.
