PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Unseasonably hot weather continues to roast the Piedmont, with highs rising to the mid- to upper-90s this week.
High pressure is locked in place over the southern Appalachians, acting like a pressure cooker over the Carolinas. Skies remain mostly sunny today, boosting high temperatures to 94 degrees. We can enjoy starlight tonight, but temperatures stay very mild, in the mid-70s.
Wednesday through Friday, our temperatures get hotter, reaching 96, 97 and 98 degrees for the last half of the work week.
