GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Over 20,000 people are without power in Guilford County as storms roll through the Piedmont Triad.
The outages are mainly in Greensboro, Climax and Pleasant Garden, with the largest total of 23,000 being reported in Greensboro, according to the Duke Energy outage map.

The Greensboro Police Department is asking people to be cautious on the roads due to fallen trees and power lines.
A severe thunderstorm watch was in effect until 10 p.m. for the entire FOX8 viewing area due to the potential for a few severe storms capable of producing damaging winds (up to 60 mph) or hail.
