RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — CBS 17 is digging deeper into what the Wake County Sheriff’s Office calls a horrific case of animal abuse.
Deputies said 66-year-old Karen Tupman had multiple malnourished and dead dogs inside her home. Their investigation started after Tupman traveled more than an hour to Burlington Animal Services in Alamance County and tried to foster more animals. As a requirement, she had to take three of her pets for a checkup.
The shelter reported that the kittens were malnourished and called in animal control.
