Juvenile accused of threatening Forsyth County schools faces over a dozen charges

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A juvenile who was arrested on Friday faces over a dozen charges after making threats against Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Between Spring, 2023, and January, 2024, the FCSO received multiple reports of threats of mass violence against two WS/FCS locations.

Investigators identified one juvenile suspect.

On Thursday, the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office approved the following
charges:

  • six counts of communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property
  • one count of extortion
  • thirteen counts of cyber bullying

On Friday, the juvenile was taken into custody without issue.

There is currently no threat to WS/FCS or the public.
