CVS closing flagship location home to secret tribute – as devastated relatives speak out at the sudden news

A CVS store set to shutter in days has left the relatives of a former employee devastated as his tribute is set to go with the store.

The store in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is set to close on January 30 as part of the company’s plans to close 900 locations nationwide between 2021 and 2024.

For many, they will lose easy access to a pharmacy and grocery store but one mother is feeling the loss even more as she feels a part of her son is going away with it.

“This is sad. This is a sad moment,” Velma Terry told WXII of the closure of the CVS on Fourth Street.

Terry lost her son Te-ore Terry on Valentine’s Day in 2021 after he was shot in a parking lot.

Te-ore worked at the CVS store for years before his death and enjoyed working and living in the community.

“Te’ore was love. Te’ore loved this area. He loved CVS,” Terry said.

“Te’ore was CVS. He took that job seriously. He really loved it, and I appreciate everyone loving on him down here,” Velma said.
