Search underway in Alamance County for missing teen

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Alamance County deputies are searching for a missing teenager near Western Alamance High School.

The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Antwain McDaniel was in a vehicle with friends that crashed Sunday morning at Durham Street Extension and Routh Road in Burlington.

His friends told officials he got out of the car and started walking toward the woods.

Alamance County Emergency Management officials put a boat in the Haw River on Tuesday. If they can’t find him by sunset, they say they will resume in the morning.

the ACSO will put ground teams out then as well, and the initial plan is to walk the banks of the Haw River from the Durham Street to Routh Road area.
