Domino’s delivery driver robbed by teenagers in Burlington, police say; K-9 tracks down suspects

BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A pair of teenagers are facing charges after allegedly robbing a Domino’s employee of food, according to Burlington police.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday, police responded to a robbery on the 1100 block of Chandler Avenue. Police say a 43-year-old man who was making a delivery for Domino’s Pizza was robbed by two young men, one of whom had a gun. The suspects tried to steal money and forcibly took a delivery bag containing food.

One of the robbers hit the man in the face, causing minor injuries.

Police used a K-9 to track the suspects and found the thermal delivery bag. The K-9 then led officers to a home on the 700 block of Sharpe Road.

With the consent of the homeowner, police found evidence at the home, including a Domino’s box as well as a gun that had been stolen from Greenville, North Carolina.

Police obtained juvenile petitions for two 17-year-old suspects for charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a minor and possession of stolen property. They were taken into custody on Monday.
