JAMESTOWN, N.C. (WGHP) — The victim of a fatal three-vehicle accident has been identified.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a Ford van was stopped at the intersection of I-85 Business South and Riverdale Drive. A Subaru Outback was stopped behind the van when a box truck slammed into the back of the Subaru Outback, which then hit the van.
The drivers of the van and box truck had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. The driver of the Outback was seriously injured and a backseat passenger in the Outback, Quinton Darnell Dean, died at the scene.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor. Troopers charged the driver of the box truck with failure to reduce speed and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
