Greensboro family caught in crossfire of shooting

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Bullets hit a woman’s car with three children in the back seat while parked at a busy Greensboro intersection.

While working at an auto shop in Greensboro, a man who wants to remain anonymous for safety reasons, received a gut-wrenching phone call from his wife on Monday evening.

“She was crying and saying somebody was shooting, and I just go ahead and get in my car and drive over there,” the man said.

His wife told him everything happened at the intersection of Bessemer Avenue and Summit Avenue .

She pulled their SUV into a nearby parking lot. Bullet holes could be seen on the hood. The man says three of his children who were sitting in the back seat were narrowly missed.

“My daughter is 10. My other daughter is one, and my son is 3 months old,” the man said.

At least three bullets hit the SUV, but with 30 evidence markers at the intersection where it happened, police have not said if the family was the intended target.

We’ve reached out to Greensboro police for additional information, and a spokesperson says they have no updates at this time.
