Jamestown woman helps shoppers’ dreams come true

JAMESTOWN, N.C. (WGHP) — It’s a home décor shopper’s dream: a store filled with items that have the character to spruce up any space.

“It’s fun to watch people shop and laugh and see what they find funny or what they don’t find funny,” Christina Westbrook said.

Gifts, clothing, and jewelry, all in one place, is at the heart of Christina Westbrook’s Jamestown business Southern Junk.

“For me, junk is things that I don’t necessarily have to have but they make me happy, and they make my space enjoyable.”

Westbrook is also proud to support other small businesses by selling their items in her store.

She has food products from businesses based in Greensboro, Kernersville, Clemmons, and other parts of North Carolina.

One of the other things she enjoys is meeting people.

The store has several regular customers.

Some don’t always come to shop. Sometimes, they just stop in and visit.

“I think there’s a peacefulness here that people enjoy,” Westbrook said.

You could say that peacefulness goes back to this building’s history.
