Former Greensboro News & Record building to be condemned

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The former News & Record building in Greensboro is set to be condemned next month.

An inspection report found the building was full of trash, drug paraphernalia, damaged furniture and human waste.

Walls and ceilings were damaged, and there’s also been at least two fires inside.

32-year-old Tiffany Holmes-Williams was found dead inside the building in August. Police say her death was a homicide.

The inspection report states that because the building has been unsecured multiple times, it poses a safety hazard to the public.

The city is asking the owners to provide demolition bids by the end of the month.

The property is scheduled to be condemned on March 1.
