6 arrested after shots fired toward Winston-Salem officers in Motor Road, Old Rural Hall Road area, police say

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Six people were arrested after shots were fired toward Winston-Salem officers on Sunday, according to a Winston-Salem Police Department news release.

At 12:19 a.m., Winston-Salem Police officers were conducting a follow-up investigation in the 300 Block of Motor Road when a gun was fired near them.

Officers then got into their vehicles and tried to find the suspect vehicle.

While driving around the area, two officers found a GMC pickup truck ruck in the Motor Road and Old Rural Hall Road area.

The truck pulled into a driveway, and the people inside began shooting toward officers before running away.

No one was injured.

After a chase on foot, officers arrested and charged six people.

Teodolindo Romero, 35, of Winston-Salem, was arrested and charged with:

  • felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury
  • felony possession of cocaine
  • misdemeanor discharging a firearm within city limits
  • misdemeanor resist, delay and obstruct a public officer
