GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Chocolates are a traditional Valentine’s Day gift. But the chocolates at one shop in Greensboro are quite unique.
Rhyme and Reason Chocolate Company on State Street in Greensboro creates custom flavors from classic dark chocolate to bars infused with fruits, oils and spices, including a spicy paprika bar. Customers can watch the chocolates being made from bean to bar behind the counter at the shop.
The owner opened the shop just over a year ago and creates everything by herself. In the short time since Elizabeth Tully opened Rhyme and Reason, her chocolates have already been recognized by international chocolate organizations winning bronze and silver awards.
The premium chocolate is not just special for the flavors, but also the source of the cocoa beans. Elizabeth visited a farm in Thailand to choose the best beans for her bars.
FOX8 Foodie Shannon Smith visited the shop to show us how she transforms those beans into award-winning treats.
