Triad law enforcement officials concerned about amount of deadly crashes

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Law enforcement officials across the Triad are concerned about the high number of people killed in vehicle crashes recently.

In Guilford County alone this year, troopers have seen four deadly crashes compared to ten all of last year.

Courtney Wilmoth lost her fiancé Josh Ford last week in a car wreck. She was set to marry him this month.

She urges people to know that no matter where you are driving to, it’s important to drive safely and pay attention on the road.

“It wasn’t a fair … He was just doing what he was supposed to do,” she said.

Wilmoth holds a framed picture with her and Ford together hugging. It’s a picture she holds closely to her heart.

“He’s an amazing father … It’s sad that they don’t get to grow with him anymore.”

Ford lost his life in a head-on crash on Highway 109 in Davidson county last week.

“It makes me very nervous to be in a car,” she said.

Now, Wilmoth has to raise their children on her own.
