Fort Liberty remembers 9/11 on 23rd anniversary of terrorist attack

FORT LIBERTY, N.C. (WNCN) – Military members and first responders paused to remember and reflect on the 23rd anniversary of 9/11. There was a wreath laying ceremony at the Eternal Flame at the main parade field on Fort Liberty. Nearly 3,000 Americans were killed in the attacks 23 years ago and over 7,000 servicemembers were also killed during the war that followed.
