1 killed in shooting on West Market Street, Greensboro police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — One person was killed in an early-morning shooting on West Market Street.

According to a news release from the Greensboro Police Department, around 2 a.m., GPD officers, Greensboro Fire and Guilford County EMS responded to a shooting at Sheetz.

While en route, officers stopped a car near Market Street and realized the victim, Jamon Terell Eubanks, 21, was a passenger in the car suffering from gunshot wounds.

Eubanks died at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing. Information about a possible suspect or motive is not available at this time.

At around 2:23 a.m. on Friday, the Greensboro Police Department announced that West Market Street was closed between South Eugene Street and South Greene Street due to a “police investigation.”
