Jaxson Dart has been fueling the potent Ole Miss offense to start the season, and he is getting recognized for it.
He already made waves in the team’s season-opener against Middle Tennessee, completing his first 24 passes as he set SEC and school records on Sept. 7.
Because of that performance, Dart broke the SEC record for consecutive completions to start a game, previously set at 23 by Tennessee’s Tee Martin against South Carolina in 1998, was broken. Additionally, the former Ole Miss record of 19 consecutive completions, established by Matt Corral against Vanderbilt in 2020, was also surpassed.
Over the course of two games, Dart achieved 30 consecutive completions, which is the longest streak in SEC history, as per ESPN Stats & Information research.
And following a strong display against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, the SEC made sure to give him some hardware.
On Sept. 16, the conference named him Co-Offensive Player of the Week after leading Ole Miss to a dominant 40-6 victory over Wake Forest.
