Scattered showers and possible storm on Wednesday in the Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Aside from some patchy fog, the weather for the morning commute looks great.  A weakening area of low pressure is located over north-central South Carolina and we will continue to see clouds pushed into the Piedmont from the south.

By lunchtime, partly cloudy skies are expected but the afternoon brings a 40% chance of scattered showers and perhaps a thunderstorm.

Highs will be in the mid-70s.

Overnight, skies remain cloudy with lows in the mid-60s.

We’ll see more clouds around tomorrow with highs in the mid-70s.

The chance of rain is a slim, 20%.

Starting Friday, the sunshine is back, and temperatures will reflect the sunnier weather!  Highs Friday and Saturday are going to be near 80° under mostly sunny skies.

Sunday, highs will slip back to the upper-70s under partly cloudy skies.

High pressure is going to slip down the Appalachians for the beginning of the work week, and high temperatures will cool to the mid-70s.  Scattered clouds will continue to build across our skies both Monday and Tuesday.
