Robeson County investigators search for Whitsett man after fatal shooting

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Robeson County investigators are searching for a Whitsett man wanted in connection to a fatal shooting, according to a Guilford County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Alvino R. Wilson, 45, of Whisett, is wanted for first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon offenses.

The charges are in relation to the death of Shaunta Jones, 36, of Fayetteville.

On Monday around 12:15 a.m., Robeson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Britt Road in St. Pauls when they were told someone had been shot.

Arriving deputies found Jones dead at the scene.

The case is being investigated by the RCSO Homicide Division. The Fayetteville Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, GCSO and North Carolina SBI (Northern Piedmont District) are assisting with the investigation.

Wilson is considered armed and dangerous.
