Watch: Downed tree on Interstate 73 near Interstate 840 in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Storms and severe winds are hitting North Carolina as Tropical Storm Helene makes its way north.

As a result of those hazards, a tree was knocked down across Interstate 73 near Interstate 840 in Greensboro on Friday morning.

Helene continues to threaten western North Carolina with life-threatening floods as it approaches the Carolinas

A Tornado Watch is in effect in several Triad counties until 6 p.m. Friday.
