GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — “The people give us the opportunity to move our menu, and we just listen to them.”
At Maho’s Bistro – it’s all about the people.
“We’re a town favorite, a lot of people come out to us, and we don’t come out often,” says the owner, Marcus Hood.
And they have a following.
“It may take long to get to us, but it doesn’t take long to get your food once you order.
Hood started his business serving up hotdogs on a cart in 2012 and got the full truck in 2020. It’s a family affair working alongside his mom, mother-in-law and sometimes, his wife.
“It’s fun, they respect us, and the job is to get the food out the window.”
And they do in creative ways.
“What we do is we take one option and we can turn it into many things. So we have a steak and cheese and we can turn it into a loaded fry steak and cheese, we can turn it into a steak and cheese egg roll.”
They’re also serving up collards in those egg rolls—an easy way to get kids to eat their greens according to Hood.
