KERNERSVILLE – Two East Carteret underclassmen participated in the 2A cross country state championships Saturday at the Ivey Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville. Freshman Alex Penny finished 83rd out of 139 runners in the boys meet, timing in at 18 minutes, 54 seconds.
