The investigation into the tragic robbery-homicide that occurred on Veterans Day in Asheboro has yielded a new development as the getaway vehicle, a gray 2013 Toyota Avalon, was located in Durham, police reported. This discovery comes nearly two weeks after the incident, which left Navy veteran David Matthew Davis, 39, dead. The Asheboro Police Department revealed in a statement that the Durham Police Department found the stolen vehicle abandoned while responding to a service call this past Friday night, as noted by WRAL.
