The First Snow in Almost 3 Years Fell in North Carolina!

It’s been a while since it snowed in parts of the Tar Heel State. January 29, 2022 was the last time measurable snow fell in the Greensboro area. Until last night. A quick-moving clipper system that dove southeast Monday brought some high elevation snow to the Appalachian Mountains, but some of that survived down into the lower elevations east of the mountains. There were even flakes that survived down to Charlotte, about an hour and a half south of Greensboro. Mt. Holly, just northwest of Charlotte recorded a trace of snow!
