Main Event has purchased almost five acres for an $12 million entertainment center that will be part of development surrounding the recently opened Topgolf facility in Greensboro.
The Plano, Texas company purchased a 4.67-acre property on Guilford College Road adjacent to Topgolf for $3.6 million in November, according to fillings with the Guilford County Register of Deeds. A building permit was also issued at the beginning of November for an $11.7 million for “multi-entertainment complex with full service bar and restaurant,” on the same property.
Main Event is slated to be one of several businesses coming to the area near Topgolf, which opened in September. Developer Realty Link previously announced that the development would include entertainment, restaurant and hotel concepts, though it did not provide specifics. Paul Owen, director of operations for Topgolf Greensboro, previously told Triad Business Journal the development would include a Main Event as well as a Starbucks and an unnamed gas station, hotel and restaurant.
