FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Concerns about school safety are growing after a violent attack last week at Glenn High School in Forsyth County.
A video circulating on social media shows four people brutally attacking a student inside the school. FOX8 is not sharing the video due to its graphic nature and because the victim is a juvenile.
District officials clarified that the attackers did not open the door to enter the school themselves. Instead, they were let in by a student.
Officials have confirmed that the attack was targeted, though they have not said how long the individuals were inside the school.
Jonathan Wilson, the district’s chief safety, security, and emergency management officer said; “It is concerning, but we have reason to believe that it is a community issue that has made its way into our schools.”
Parents are expressing outrage over the incident.
“I mean, it looked like a prison yard video, and this is one of our schools!” said Ashley Wallace, a concerned parent. “They beat him. They stomped on him with their feet. It lasted about 20 seconds, but he was brutally beaten up.”
