90% chance of rain on Tuesday morning in the Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. for Alleghany, Ashe, Davie, Rowan, Surry, Wilkes, and Yadkin counties. Visibility across the FOX8 viewing area may drop to ¼ mile or less during the morning commute. Scattered showers continue through the morning as well. Please use caution as you drive this morning.

Showers may get lighter during the lunch hour today, but steadier, heavier rain is expected in the late afternoon and evening. This will affect the 5 p.m. rush hour so please be prepared for slowdowns and possible delays. Highs are going to be mild, in the lower-60s.

Rain, heavy at times, continues overnight. Lows remain mild, in the upper-50s.

A cold front is forecast to cross the Piedmont tomorrow in the early afternoon. Heavy rain and wind will ride along the front, bringing rainfall totals to 2″ to 3″ for the next 48 hours.  Highs are expected to reach 60° early in the morning, then tumble into the 40s by late afternoon!

The rest of the week is going to be cold, with lows in the mid-to-upper-20s and highs in the upper-40s Thursday through Saturday. The weather will stay dry over this time, but clouds will increase on Friday and Saturday.
