Expect above-normal temperatures in the Piedmont Triad Wednesday

(WGHP) — Mostly cloudy skies this evening with temperatures in the upper 50s through 7 PM. A stray shower can’t be ruled out this evening but the chance for rain is less than 20%.

We’ll see mild temperatures overnight with many remaining in the low 50s into Wednesday morning. Wednesday will remain mostly cloudy, breezy and warm with high temperatures nearly 15 degrees above normal for mid-December. Afternoon highs reach the mid to upper 60s ahead of a cold front that will return temperatures to seasonal highs for the last couple days of the work week. Isolated to scattered showers will be possible in the late afternoon and evening hours through the early overnight hours as a cold front moves through the region. The chance for rain is 40%.

Partly cloudy skies on Thursday with temperatures in the low 40s in the morning and highs reaching the low to mid 50s. Winds will be breezy out of the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.

Friday morning we’ll wake up with temperatures in the upper 30s and afternoon highs will reach the low 50s. Skies will be partly cloudy, and winds will remain breezy out of the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.
