Greensboro renters hold Grinch-themed protest at apartment complex

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Tenants of New Garden Place Apartments are angry.

Some residents have been left without heat for months and they feel like they have tried everything, yet still no results.

So, in the spirit of Christmas, they’re taking a light-hearted approach, performing a skit they call  “Stop the Grinch.”

“There’s no heat, I have to open my oven to get heat,” said resident of the New Garden Apartment complex, Brigette Babington.

“I started getting a strong sewer smell in my apartment,” said resident of the New Garden Apartment complex, Sheronca.

“I have to take an extension cord from my living room and drag it in the kitchen to make a cup of coffee,” said Babington.

Tenants at New Garden Place Apartments are fed up.

“I got in touch with Valerie, she is an inspector. She came and inspected, sent fines, we went to city hall. They take him to court, he just adjourned. He won’t show up for court. He gets fined. And how does that protect us? So we still are in the same spot,” said Babington.
