24-year-old man killed in Greensboro shooting

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The Greensboro Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was shot and killed on Thursday afternoon.

At around 4:58 p.m. on Thursday, Greensboro police, firefighters and Guilford County EMS came to the 3800 block of Centraal Avenue after getting a report of a person either being shot or stabbed.

At the scene, officers found 24-year-old Darius Marquis Knight-Anderson in the front yard after being shot multiple times. Life-saving efforts were initiated; however, Knight-Anderson died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Forensic investigators came to process the scene and the fatal shooting is being investigated as a homicide.

Police did not provide any information on a possible suspect at this time.

The deadly shooting is the second homicide of the new year in Greensboro.
