16-year-old arrested, charged for Central Avenue homicide, Greensboro police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A 16-year-old male has been arrested after a man was shot and killed Thursday afternoon , according to Greensboro police.

According to a press release, the Greensboro Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team arrested a 16-year-old on a warrant for arrest for first-degree murder in connection to the death of Darius Knight-Anderson on Thursday.

At around 4:58 p.m. on Thursday, Greensboro police, firefighters and Guilford County EMS responded to the 3800 block of Central Avenue after getting a report of a person either being shot or stabbed.

At the scene, officers found 24-year-old Darius Marquis Knight-Anderson in the front yard after being shot multiple times. Life-saving efforts were initiated; however, Knight-Anderson died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
