Winston-Salem prepares for sold-out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — In one month, thousands of NASCAR fans will be in Winston-Salem for The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium.

The event is sold out.

The local economy will benefit from all of those race fans coming to town. NASCAR fans will need a place to stay.

Visit Winston-Salem’s president said hotels and lodging spaces in the city have already had people reaching out to book for The Clash weekend.

“It looks like more than 60% of ticket holders will be from outside of the Triad,” Visit Winston-Salem President Stephanie Pace Brown said.

Visit Winston-Salem said The Clash is expected to draw over 15,000 fans to Winston-Salem the weekend of Feb. 1- to Feb. 2 for the NASCAR race at Bowman Gray Stadium.

“We know that fans will be coming from 44 different states, and so I’m sure that there will be a big demand for hotel rooms,” Pace Brown said.

People have already started to book hotels in and around the city for the big event.

“Forsyth County has more than 50 hotels, totaling about 5,500 rooms. We offer a great range of accommodations from really value-packed places to upscale accommodations, and so there’s something for everyone,” Pace Brown said.
