High Point police to help Greensboro police the day of Officer Michael Horan’s funeral

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Law enforcement agencies across the Triad are continuing to offer support to Greensboro police with the funeral service to be held Thursday for Officer Michael Horan who was killed in the line of duty.

The High Point Police Department is one of the agencies lending a hand to the Greensboro Police Department that day. HPPD Assistant Police Chief Major Matt Truitt says many of their officers want to honor Horan when he is laid to rest.

Not only will many of them be in attendance at the funeral but several officers will be working to help with the service.

34 High Point officers will be blocking the road for the procession route for Horan. There will be officers of all ranks helping out. Many are coming in during their time off to help.

The service will take place at Westover Church on Muirs Chapel Road on Thursday at 2 p.m.

High Point police’s traffic officers have also been on call for Greensboro to help them as they plan the service and offer support to the family.
