A lengthy drive-through line or full dining room is nothing new for the Chick-fil-A location on U.S. Highway 601 in Mount Airy.
However, Thursday afternoon the dining room was packed at a non-peak time to celebrate the 101st birthday of Bill Wagoner, the man residents of 12 Oaks Retirement Home call “The Mayor.”
The man of the hour was seated center at a long table with the majority of the dining room full of folks there just to see him and wish him a happy birthday. He regaled them with stories and jokes all the while chatting up a storm with anyone who came by to say hello…
