Duke Survives A Gutty Wake Forest, 63-56

Duke broke a two-year losing streak at Wake Forest Saturday 63-56, but it wasn’t easy.

Although Duke took a 35-22 lead into the locker room, the Blue Devils had an imperfect first half, shooting just 44.8 percent and 33.3 percent from behind the line, and four starters had two fouls each. Worse, Duke had 10 turnovers, including five by Cooper Flagg. He did balance those with five assists. Duke could have been up by a lot more if it had been more efficient.

However, the Blue Devils put a terrific amount of pressure on Wake, limiting the Deacs to 29.6 percent shooting, 0-9 from behind the line and Wake had just three offensive rebounds in the first half…
