CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Until recently, Ketra Chambers had positive experiences sending her children to charter schools. She said that changed when one of her children with some extra learning challenges started saying he didn’t want to go to his school, Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy.
“I started noticing that he would come home and be, like, shaking,” Chambers recalled.
He was being bullied, Chambers said, and she didn’t get what she felt was an appropriate response from leadership. As she started asking questions, she also became concerned about whether his special needs were being adequately addressed…
