Cold front sweeping through Piedmont Triad means you’ll want to grab a coat Friday morning

(WGHP) — A few breaks in the clouds this afternoon with clearing skies this evening. Temperatures fall into the 40s after 6 p.m. with skies becoming mostly clear by 8 p.m. A cold front is who we thank for helping drive the clouds out for the overnight hours but that also means we’re looking at a temperature drop for the end of the work week.

We’ll start Friday in the mid 20s with sunny skies which means you’ll want the heavier coat out the door. A few clouds roll in by the afternoon leaving us with partly cloudy skies and afternoon highs in the mid 40s. Enjoy the dry day because rain returns this weekend.

Saturday morning starts with cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 30s but rain looks to roll in by mid-morning.
