High pollen count on a cloudy Monday in the Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A coastal storm is churning off the coast of Georgia, and it is forecast to move northward and off the coast of North Carolina by tonight.

Our skies will be cloudy today with a scant, 15% chance of light showers in the southern Piedmont. Highs will be near normal, in the lower-60s, later this afternoon.  Tree pollen counts will return to the HIGH category today, mainly from cedar, juniper, and cottonwood.

Overnight, skies will clear out nicely with lows in the upper-30s.

We have a warm week ahead!  Sunshine returns on Tuesday and Wednesday, and high temperatures will respond to that ample sunshine, reaching the mid-to upper-70s.

There is a cold front coming our way toward the end of the work week, so Thursday will be cloudier, though highs will stay in the mid-70s. The cold front sags to our south on Friday, bringing highs back to the lower-70s under partly sunny skies…
