Popular North Carolina aquarium to undergo $56 million renovation

KURE BEACH, N.C. (WBTV) – A popular North Carolina aquarium received a $7.5 million grant this past week, which will go toward its $56 million renovation.

The grant was given to the Aquarium at Fort Fisher by the New Hanover Community Endowment. The Endowment said the money will play a “pivotal role” in enhancing the aquarium’s educational programs and introducing new opportunities for visitors.
