Suspect accused of shooting man in head during drug deal outside Charlotte Bojangles due in court: Records

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Rock Hill man accused of killing another man over a drug deal gone wrong is scheduled to appear before a judge Thursday, according to court records.

The incident took place on December 7, 2024, when police responded to a 911 call about a man found shot outside a Bojangles restaurant on West Trade Street, near Wesley Heights Way. The caller reported hearing gunshots about an hour before discovering the victim.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers arrived at the scene around 6:45 p.m. to find 25-year-old Demarcus Gerald shot in the head. Gerald was rushed to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, where he tragically passed away around 4:16 p.m. the following day…
