WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — On Thursday, Maurice Travon Evans Jr. pled guilty to second-degree murder related to the 2021 shooting death of classmate William Chavis Renard Miller Jr at Mount Tabor High School, according to Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neill.
Evans has been sentenced to a minimum of 22.5 years in prison, 28 years maximum.
